This is a courtesy translation. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
The promise, in one sentence: your screenshots are analyzed, then forgotten. Never stored, never looked at again, never used to train anything.
Your images. When you start your portrait, your screenshots are sent over an encrypted connection to our analysis partner (Anthropic, the Claude API) just long enough to generate your card — a few seconds — and then they are gone. They are stored neither on our servers nor by our partner (which does not use data from its API to train its models). Nobody at Portreto can see them. Nowhere, ever.
Your card. It is built in your browser. If you share it or save it, that is your action and your file — we keep no copy of the image.
Your recommendations. At the end of each analysis, Poto prepares a few personalized recommendations. If you do not leave your email, the link to view them is deleted within 24 hours. If you do, they are kept so that we can send them to you.
What Poto writes. We never keep your screenshots, your name or your IP address. We keep only the text Poto wrote — your portrait, your recommendations, and the rating or comment you may leave on them — anonymously, to help him write better; if you left your email, that text is detached from it as soon as you unsubscribe. It is never published or passed on to any third party.
Your email. If you entrust it to Poto, it is used for exactly what the form says: sending you your recommendations. It is never sold, never shared, never used for anything else. We also keep the language you chose on the site (so we can write to you in the right language) and the date you signed up. Our emails are delivered by Resend Inc. (resend.com), which processes your address only to deliver these messages. Optional tips are processed by Stripe (stripe.com), on Stripe’s own site: we never see or store any payment details. You can unsubscribe at any time (there is a link in every email: your address is then deleted from our database) or ask us to delete everything by writing to contact@portreto.app.
Audience measurement. We count events (a visit, a card created, a share click) to find out whether people like Portreto. No advertising profile, nothing resold, no third-party tracker. A technical identifier (the “pv” cookie, see below) lets us know whether you have visited before, anonymously. If you leave us your email, that same identifier also lets you find your cards again without having to type it again. You can object to it in one click on the audience measurement page: your visits are then counted without any identifier. A temporary technical identifier also lives in your page and dies when you close it. We count the country each visit comes from (derived from the IP address, then immediately dissociated — the address itself is never kept), and the name of the site you arrive from (for example instagram.com), never the exact address of the page; if you open Portreto inside the Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn in-app browser, only the name of that app. We also keep your browser’s technical identifier (the “User-Agent”, which says for example “Safari on iPhone”): it serves only to exclude robots and link previews from our counts. As long as you have not given us your email, all of this stays anonymous. If you have, and your device is recognized (the “sf” cookie below), your activity on the site is linked to your address: that is what lets Poto remember you.
Cookies. Portreto sets two cookies, both our own, never a third party’s. “pv” (13 months, never extended) is the technical identifier described above: knowing whether you have visited before, anonymously, and, if you have left us your email, finding your cards again; you can object to it at any time on the audience measurement page, which then replaces the identifier with a record of your refusal. “sf” (365 days) is your account cookie: it is set only if you click the magic link received by email, and it lets you find your games and cards on this device; “Sign out on this device” deletes it. When you unsubscribe, we immediately stop recognizing you: your address is deleted and detached from everything it was linked to. Anonymous traces may remain (for example the cards you created, detached from your address); they can no longer identify you.
What Formeto keeps in your browser. Formeto keeps in your browser what it needs to pick up your game where you left off: completed tiers, chosen mode, tricks already seen. This information stays on your device. If you have given us your email, it is also saved with your address for your other devices. You can erase it by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Your rights (GDPR). Access, rectification, deletion, objection: write to contact@portreto.app and we will take care of it quickly, with no forms in triplicate. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority, if you believe your rights are not being respected.
